The annual DWR kick-off picnic on Friday, September 5, 2008 was fun! A total of 59 Deaf women attended. During that afternoon, 59 Deaf women participated in enjoying delicious meal and the best of company at the Buckland Lodge. I’m impressed with our group photo which is now on the website along with new board photos.
The group photo is a constellation of brilliant and inspirational women I could find in many role models. I look forward interacting with the fantastic women during the upcoming months. Also I look forward meeting new ones and welcome them to the community.

Also this year, DWR will have its biennial retreat at Camp Mark Seven on September 25-27, 2009. Watch for registration announcements!
And, we have plans for exciting events during the next several month and we’re working on confirming the dates and location.

Additionally, I’m excited to announce that we have a new DWR board. The new DWR President and Recorder consist of myself (Angela Lee Foreman) and Kathleen Szczepanek. Cynthia Rohlin will continue her term as Treasurer.
I’m thrilled that the past DWR President, Barbara Stanislow has agreed to be the Consultant to the new board; and Elissa Olsen agreed to be the By-Laws Consultant.
