![]() Kathleen Szczepanek, President | Kathleen Szczepanek is the President for DWR. She is currently a faculty at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology teaching business courses to the deaf and hard-of-hearing business students. Prior to that, she was a staff assistant at NTID's Office of Vice President and an Admissions Counselor for NTID Admissions respectively. She enjoys traveling, an avid reader, fixing up her house, and is glad to be of service to the DWR. She can be reached at DWRPresident at gmail.com |

A native of Rochester, NY, and a long-time Town of Greece resident, Terri Mertz earned
her Associate Degree in Business Technologies from Rochester Institute of Technology and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (RIT/NTID), her Bachelor of Science in
Community and Human Services at Empire State College, and her Master of Science in Secondary Education of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing at RIT/NTID. Terri was
employed at Monroe BOCES #1 and taught American Sign Language classes to Middle and High School students at various school districts in Monroe County. She is now Rochester School for the Deaf's Coordinator/Teacher of Signs for All. She is looking
forward to contributing to the DWR as well as being a part of a viable Board group. |

Candi Daviton is the new treasurer for DWR which she is delighted to have the opportunity! Candi is an original California Girl for 45 years before making a big change which is... moving to East, to complete her master degree from RIT/NTID which she graduated in 2007 in Special Education with focus on Art Instruction. For a long time Candi has always wanted to be an art therapist but unfortunately RIT does not have this field and not only that, but be closer to her only child, her daughter Jenamarie and two adorable grandsons! During her free time, Candi loves to be outside in her garden and continue with artistry ideas and being with her grandsons. Candi also has a wonderful pet soul mate which is Chocolate Lab dog, named Pumpkin! Candi hopes to take over the footprints of her dearest sister who have contributed to Deaf Women of Rochester and Candi hopes to share her creativity mind to boost for stronger DWR. |

Elissa Olsen is the DWR's By-laws Consultant. She is currently a faculty chairperson for the Informations and Computing Studies Department at the National
Technical Institue for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology. She is also very active in many deaf organization around Rochester |

Barbara Stanislow has been a NJ native most of her life and moved to Rochester 9 years ago following her husband's teaching job at NTID/RIT. She sure misses the Jersey Shore! She is a part time stay home mom with two daughters. She works part time as a Customer Service Rep for Interpretek/Snap!VRS. That's the Ojo videophone. Her favorite hobby is scrapbooking and she is also a consultant for Creative Memories Scrapbooking Company. She likes to read only if she has time. Her family has an RV and they love to travel! The longest vacation they had was travelling across America for seven weeks. That was a memorable vacation. Stay connected with Deaf Women of Rochester. We need you ladies! |
